Is it some kind of odd driver issue? Do I need to install something that I am missing? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! I bought the Anker cable recommended by Oculus for the Quest Link but I am baffled at why I can't get the Oculus App on my Windows partition to see the Quest? What magic are you guys doing to make this happen? I know Oculus says they don't support this process but I am just not getting why it won't work with the Bootcamp side.
The Mac has a 2.3 Gig 8 Core i9 processor with an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card with 8 Gigs of memory along with Mac's Intel UHD card. I also have a new 2019 Mac Book Pro running a 250 gig partition of Windows Bootcamp. Overall, any success or failure stories about getting PC VR to run on a mac/quest setup would be of great interest to this old toad. Is that version stable/functional? Anybody got any experiences to share? ALVR is as I understand it another option, but on GitHub, it seems ALVR has not been updated since March of this year.
If I skip Link, and get some form of VR running on my laptop, how does the sideloaded version of Virtual Desktop work? Is the version on SideQuest a full version of do i need to also purchase the version on Steam? It's no problem either way, just want to figure out how this works. Does this mean I will be able to use Link witn the AMD Radeon Pro 5300M or not? Link does not seem to be supported for the AMD Radeon cards, although there is a mention of compability with AMD hardware in the release notes for 12.
